Frequently Asked Questions

At CleanMax, our simplified solar energy solutions help build a healthier planet. Here’s a chance to get rid of your apprehensions and take that one step towards doing your bit for a sustainable future. Our Knowledge Hub provides you with in-depth information on how solar works, its O&M and guides you as your enterprise makes the clean energy conversion.

A solar plant will generate clean, reliable electricity that can be used to offset the electricity you consume from your local utility and create savings against your monthly electricity bills.
Net metering is a program that allows individuals or businesses to install solar plants at their premises and export any excess electricity generated by the plant back into the grid. The exported electricity is stored as credit and can be used to offset future electricity consumption.

For example, over the course of a month, if your solar plant produces 200 kWh of electricity but your facility only needs 50 kWh to operate, the balance 150 kWh is back-fed into the utility grid and will be stored as credit which can be used to offset your consumption in another month. The excess credits will be visible on your utility bills.
25 years
No, you can receive electricity from your solar plant and your existing utility connection simultaneously. When the sun isn’t shining, you will consume electricity from your existing utility connection.
Under the solar leasing model, we will invest our financial and technical resources to build the solar plant at 0 upfront cost to you. We will operate and maintain the solar plant for the duration of the lease period and simply charge you for the electricity that the solar plant generates at rates cheaper than those charged by your local utility. Therefore, you realize instant savings on your monthly bills.

Under the CAPEX model, you would have to pay for the entire solar plant upfront. We will build the solar plant for you, after which you will be required to pay for the operation and maintenance of the solar plant each year. Typical pay back periods on the initial investment range from 6-10 years.
Our leasing structure is flexible, therefore we can offer solar leases anywhere between 5-25 years, although 20-year leases are the most common. The longer the lease period, the greater the discounts we can offer.
If you opt for our solar leasing model, we will take ownership of all operation and maintenance activities for the duration of the solar lease. If you opt for our CAPEX model, you will be responsible for operation and maintenance, however, you can choose to appoint us as a maintenance contractor.

Due to the UAE's dusty environment, we use a combination of wet and dry cleaning techniques multiple times a month to ensure optimal plant performance
Solar plants are typically installed on building/warehouse rooftops but can also be installed over car parking spaces. Solar plants can be installed on metal sheet roofs, concrete roofs or a combination of both.
To install 1 kWp of solar, you would require approximately 10 sqm (or 100 sq ft) of shadow free space
We guarantee that our solar installations will not affect the quality or structural stability of your roof. We do so by conducting rigorous analyses before beginning any site works.
If you are installing a solar plant through a net metering policy, then batteries would not be required because the excess electricity generated by the solar system is back-fed into the grid. Therefore, the grid acts as your battery system because it stores the excess electricity generated by the solar plant as credits that can be used to offset future electricity bills.
